What To Expect the Day of Testing
Testing Time
Testing time depends on the age of the child and what we are testing for. Testing can range from 3 hours to 6 hours depending on these factors. Be sure to plan your day accordingly.
During Testing
Your child will be with Dr. Corley to complete a variety of tests to assess areas of concerns. While Dr. Corley and your child are testing, parents will complete questionnaires regarding behavioral and emotional functioning. Parents are welcome to stay in the room with Dr. Corley and their child if this makes the parent and child more comfortable.
What to Bring
Since the testing day may be long, be sure to bring snacks and drinks for your child. If they have been evaluated by the school or another psychologist or practice, please bring any reports or IEP paperwork for Dr. Corley to review. Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and a good breakfast before arriving to your appointment.
After Testing
After testing is complete, Dr. Corley will analyze the data to determine diagnoses and appropriate recommendations. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled in-office or through telehealth to review the results with the parents and provide next steps for your child. Parents will also receive a copy of their child’s report to be able to share with other organizations for therapy or accommodations.
